Meet the Staff

Deborah Hormuth

Executive Director, CASA of Western Maryland

Debbie has been with CASA as a staff member since June 2023. She has been a volunteer advocate, an advocate coordinator, and finally the Executive Director. In her free time, she enjoys scrap-booking, reading, and spending time with her family, including her grand baby.

Laura Shelton

Advocate Coordinator/Training Facilitator

Laura is new to CASA of Western Maryland, starting her position in September 2023. She is a wife and a mother of three children. She also has 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 horses. She loves reading, coffee, playing outside, and doing yoga in her spare time. She is grateful for being a part of an organization that gives children a voice when they need it most.

Melissa Boobar

Advocate Coordinator

Melissa joined us in May 2024 as the new Volunteer Advocate Coordinator for Washington County. She has been a volunteer with CASA of Western Maryland since 2020. Her experience as a volunteer brings an understanding of the Advocate Volunteer’s experience as well as our organization. When Melissa isn’t at work in our Hagerstown office, she enjoys spending time with her horse Jack and in her garden.

Thank you for expressing interest in a career with us. We do not have any positions available now. If a position should become available in the future, the opening will be posted here.

You can still be involved by volunteering. This is a wonderful way to explore if CASA of Western Maryland would fulfill your career objectives. Visit our Volunteer page to discover opportunities that may be of interest to you.
